Default Game Suggestion: Change The Level Cap

I have to say, Guild Wars is a very great game. There's all kinds of skills and strategy. I love it. There's just one tiny problem.

The level cap.

It's just too high! I mean 20, come on! Who has time to wait around for 20 levels? 5 levels, I could see that maybe. Get a few good quests in, chop up some monsters, there's still that certain sense of achivement.

But around level 3, I really start feeling the grind.

Now I *have* to go kill some more Grawl. And do another quest. Or explore some areas. Grind, grind, grind. All these things that could be fun no longer are, because I'm obsessing over how to get to level 4.

By level 4, I've had it. I've probably been playing this character for maybe, six, hours? Who wants to keep a character for that long?

I'm just saying that things like GvG should be reserved for those poor souls that manage to tough it out to 5th level. Making them wait for level 20 is torture. Plus, 20 is just an arbitrary number anyways.

Actually, if they really want to be original, they should make the level cap 1. However, you should start out at level 20, and have to level down to reach level 1. That way, when you ascend (or actually, descend), you can proudly proclaim, "I've made it to number 1!"

Finally! I came here thinking...bah, another person wanting to raise the level cap...then, POW! Lower it you say? Okay, that'd work. Very interesting take on it, I like it.

Dreamsmith... you're an absolute genius! If you ever decide to create a game that way please let me know. I'd love to help and enjoy the royalties! Really though... If level 3 or 4 has you grinding than you don't know how the game works and don't know that there is a Seared Ascalon as well. Enjoy the game... we ALL are!

Hmmm... No, I think 20 does suffice.

But seriously, you all know it really doesn't matter what lvl. you are. They only made it 20 because they wanted the increases in stats to be evened out. If it were 5, it would be the same thing, but you would be getting a massive amount of health/energy/whatever every level.

Unless... you are proposing the idea of a game where the max level you reach is of a weak nature. Then that would be interesting and I would hate it.

Do away with levels... and HP for that matter. Lets turn Guild Wars into the online version of HARN.
